Steve spent a full career with U.S. Secret Service (USSS) as a Senior Special Agent with over 20 years of successful experience in global law enforcement, protection, emergency management, high profile federal/state fraud investigations. Steve also held a Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance.  Prior to joining the Secret Service, Steve proudly served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. 

 

Steve oversaw counterfeit investigations in the Minnesota District and assisted in developing relationships of Secret Service personnel with multiple local law enforcement groups to investigate individuals involved in counterfeiting, drugs and theft with violent criminal histories resulting in a major decrease in counterfeit currency in circulation in the Twin Cities area.  

 

Steve has led numerous protective advance security teams conducting assessments for the President, Vice President and other VIPs and world leaders involving the technical and physical security for domestic and international venues including the Middle East, Asia and South America. Steve was an instructor at the Secret Service training academy teaching protection and investigative courses to Secret Service agents assigned to the President and Vice President’s protective details, as well as, field agents and newly hired agents. Additionally, Steve was a firearms instructor for the Secret Service throughout the course of his career.

 

Steve’s education includes; a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN, a Master of Science Degree from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, MI, and also graduated from the Criminal Investigator Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glynco, GA, and Special Agent Training at the U.S. Secret Service James J. Rowley Training Center in Beltsville, Maryland and Washington, District of Columbia.

 

Steve has received numerous distinctions and awards throughout his career to include; from the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Presidential Protective Division, the USSS Criminal Investigative Division and Asset Forfeiture Branch, and numerous Law Enforcement Recognition Awards from the United States Attorney’s Office, District of Minnesota (USAO-MN).
