MIKE OLSON, CIS LI & LA
Chief Executive Officer
Mike completed a full career in the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) as a Senior Special Agent with over 22 years of successful experience in global law enforcement, protection, emergency management, high profile federal/state fraud investigations, and electronic crime investigations, having served multiple assignments in Chicago, IL, Washington D.C., and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mike held a Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance. Mike has also proudly served as a St. Paul, MN Police Officer and in the field of retail Loss Prevention with several different major retail companies.
Mike initiated, led, and directed multiple complex federal and state fraud and electronic crime investigations involving transnational and local organized crime groups. Mike developed the strategy and managed investigations as the U.S. Secret Service supervisor of the MN Financial and Electronic Crimes Task Force. Mike also has significant experience with employee related investigations, as well as, screening and interviews which impacted employment decisions. Mike has been trained in the areas of implicit bias and mental illness, especially as they pertain to employment related interviews, and interviews of persons involved in threatening behavior.
Mike has led and/or played an active role in countless protective advance security assessments involving the technical and physical security for venues and locations associated with the President, Vice President, and other VIPs and world leaders. Mike served as a supervisor in the Operations Section of the Vice-Presidential Protection Division with responsibility for the overall daily security logistics and planning of the Vice President and his family’s global schedule. In addition, Mike has participated in and/or led protective intelligence investigations involving real or implied threats to protected individuals.
Mike serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Organized Retail Crime Association (MNORCA) and is a member of; the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI), the FBI’s InfraGard program, and partnered with the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force (ECTF). Mike is also a proud member of ASIS International.
Mike received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Mike also graduated from the Criminal Investigator Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glynco, GA, and Special Agent Training at the U.S. Secret Service James J. Rowley Training Center in Beltsville, Maryland and Washington, District of Columbia. Mike has taken numerous courses throughout his career including in the areas of; cybercrime, bank fraud, organized crime, asset seizure & forfeiture, protective intelligence, information security and network intrusion Wicklander & Zulawski Interview/Interrogation and Reid and Associates interviewing. Mike is certified as both an ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor.

Senior Director/ Investigator
Jason Heilman has over 19 years of investigative experience within the public and private sector. Jason began his career working within the security industry for Allina Health Systems, where he was involved with conducting employee related investigations, before spending the next 15 years as an investigator and police officer for the City of Maple Grove, Minnesota. In 2018 Jason moved from the public sector to the private sector and now holds licensures in the state of Minnesota for private investigations and protective services.
Jason has significant employment related investigative experience having served on the City of Maple Grove police officer hiring board, as well as the security team and hiring representative for the Osseo/Maple Grove, Minnesota School District.
Throughout Jason’s investigative career he has led in a variety of ways including; being the former lead core investigator and union president with the Maple Grove Police Department, School Resource Officer (SRO) for the Osseo, MN School District, President of the Hennepin County Investigator’s Association, TCORCA (Twin Cities Organized Retail Crime Association) board member, and ICAC Task Force Member (Internet Crimes Against Children) from 2012 through 2018.
Jason has received specialized training from the Department of Justice, FBI, Homeland Security, FEMA, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Southern Police Institute and John E. Reid and Associates. Specializing in the areas of; controlling and managing major cases, interviewing and interrogation, complex fraud investigations, threat assessment, criminal and civil investigations, undercover operations, death investigations, explosive device investigation, arson, retail crime, accident investigations, cyber crimes, digital forensic analysis, background investigations and crime analytics. Jason has also received specialized training from the FBI's Laboratory Division, Explosives Unit, on Post-Blast Investigations.
KYLE LOVEN, ESQ., CCEP
Kyle Loven spent a career in the FBI spanning over twenty years, during which he held a variety of roles. Kyle has an accomplished legal background and brings a breadth of expertise to 360. From December of 2004 to September of 2017, Kyle was responsible for the FBI Minneapolis’ Legal program, serving as its Chief Division Counsel. He also supervised the division’s Community Outreach, Media, and Asset Forfeiture efforts in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
In this role with the FBI, Kyle served as the principal Ethics, Corporate Policy, Privacy, and Compliance Council official and key advisor. He also managed all legal, compliance, privacy, and ethics matters on behalf of the division. As a Special Assistant US Attorney for the District of Minnesota, Kyle played an instrumental role in managing litigation filed against the FBI, working in close partnership with the US Attorney’s Office. Moreover, Kyle provided guidance and counsel with respect to several, high profile FBI investigations, which included: the al-Shabaab terror financing and Somali Traveler investigations; the Tom Petters fraud investigation; and the Jacob Wetterling abduction/murder investigation.
While serving as Chief Division Counsel, Kyle provided guidance to FBI Special Agents in Charge, Assistant Special Agents in Charge, and Supervisory Special Agents with respect to investigative, administrative, and employment matters. Finally, Kyle served as the Minneapolis Division’s representative to the FBI Director’s Mid-Management Advisory Committee for six years and participated in providing direct guidance to the FBI regarding employment issues and protocols.
Moreover, Kyle was selected to serve as the FBI Acting Legal Attaché to US Embassy in Singapore in 2009, supporting FBI operations in Singapore, Brunei, and Diego Garcia. He also traveled to Hungary, El Salvador, and Kazakhstan to instruct foreign professionals within International Law Enforcement Academies on Public Corruption, Ethics and Money Laundering, and Asset Forfeiture matters. He served in a supervisory and legal liaison role to the Israeli security agency, Shin Bet, traveling to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during a terror financing disruption operation. Kyle received the InfraGard Coordinator Award and the FBI’s ‘Certificate of Achievement’ for exemplary performance as both the Chief Division Counsel and Media Coordinator for the Minneapolis Division.
Kyle is admitted to the US Supreme Court & Minnesota State Bars. His current and prior professional service includes: Board member - Minnesota Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board; Assistant Adjunct Professor - University of St. Thomas School of Law; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Instructor - Minnesota Continuing Legal Education.
Kyle received his Juris Doctorate (JD) from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota and his undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He is also is a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) – Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics and was the former FBI InfraGard Coordinator for the Minnesota, North Dakota, & South Dakota chapters.
DAN MURPHY, M.A., CFE, CFCI
Dan Murphy is a retired Detective-Sergeant from the New York City Police Department where he served for twenty years. His accomplishments there include 16 years as either a Detective or Detective-Sergeant serving in units such as the Narcotics Division, the Organized Crime Investigation Division, the Major Case Squad, the Bronx Gang Investigations Squad, and ultimately the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), after 9-11. His areas of expertise included Federal RICO investigations of violent gangs, kidnapping, human trafficking, bank robbery, and counterterrorism.
Dan has received numerous awards for outstanding patrol and detective work including the 2003 National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) TOP COP Award, given by John Walsh of “America’s Most Wanted” in Washington, DC.
Dan was a first responder to the terror attacks of both February 26, 1993, and September 11, 2001 on the World Trade Center. He has also performed undercover work in Southeast Asia while working in a task force with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
After leaving the NYPD Dan worked for The Bank of New York as a Financial Crimes and Fraud Investigator, targeting possible terrorist financing schemes. He then spent eight years with Albertson’s/Supervalu as Director, Corporate, Supply Chain and Global Security and Investigations. He is also Founding Partner of Violence Prevention Strategies LLC, and was an Associate Director in the Compliance and Privacy Investigations Areas of Optum Health. He most recently was Senior Vice President, Chief Security Officer for US Bancorp.
Dan has had significant experience in employee related investigations, privacy, and compliance issues across the aforementioned public and private sector organizations. Dan has personally led many employment misconduct investigations including theft, stalking, cyber-stalking, assaults, threats, harassment, to inappropriate use or misappropriation of company equipment and assets, expense account and travel fraud, improper relationships with vendors or subordinates, and vendor fraud.
He is co-author of the book “Workplace Safety: Establishing an Effective Violence Prevention Program” (2015; Butterworth-Heinemann/Elsevier). He is a sought-after speaker in this area as well as his NYPD and 9-11 experiences, international travel safety and security, and organizational management of emerging global security concerns.
Dan has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, and a Master of Arts in Public Safety Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota where he is a member of the Adjunct Faculty teaching classes on Workplace Violence Prevention, Private Investigations Techniques, and the Graduate level Capstone program.
His professional affiliations include the International Security Management Association (ISMA), the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI), and the Overseas Security Advisory Committee (OSAC) of the U.S. Department of State, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Dan is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI).
Mike is a 31-year veteran of Law Enforcement. He began his career in 1987, working on a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) led Narcotics Task Force. In 1988, Mike began working for the Minneapolis Police Department. During his 19-year career with Minneapolis, Mike was Commander of the Homicide Unit, the Narcotics Unit, as well as the Organized Crime Unit.
In 2007 Mike went to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) where he served as Chief Deputy, the highest-ranking appointed law enforcement officer. Hennepin County is Minnesota’s largest county by population, with over 1.25 million residents.
As Chief Deputy, Mike led the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff’s Office to include managing 820 personnel and a budget of $110 million. Mike served as Incident Commander during; the 35W Bridge collapse in 2007, the 2008 Republican National Convention, and Super Bowl 52, as well as overseeing the Hennepin County Crime Lab as it received International Accreditation. Highly experienced in matters involving employee related investigations, Mike oversaw the HCSO Internal Affairs Unit. On average he oversaw approximately thirty (30) internal affairs investigations per year or the equivalent of approximately 300 cases during his leadership tenure.
Additionally, during his tenure in the Sheriff’s Office, Mike created and implemented the Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) which conducted proactive focused investigations on the County’s most violent offenders. Also, Mike spearheaded the creation of the Criminal Information Sharing and Analysis Unit (CISA) which provided predictive policing services and criminal analysis to law enforcement agencies throughout the region.
Mike has high-level skills in areas such as interagency collaborations, management of capital projects, personnel management and staffing, policy development, intergovernmental relations, critical incident management, crisis communication, and the development of investigative protocols and supervision.
Mike has received numerous awards throughout his career to include; the “Hennepin County Leadership Award” for his work with the families of homicide victims, as well as other awards for acts of courage and bravery.
Managing Financial Investigator
Jim Shoup comes to 360 most recently from his work in owning and operating Midwest Investigative Services where he specialized in forensic accounting and investigations on behalf of clients for defense attorneys.
Prior to this, Jim spent 30+ years as a criminal investigator with the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI). While at the IRS-CI Jim was responsible for leading investigations which involved; interviewing witnesses, analyzing records, conducting search warrants, gathering evidence, summarizing and presenting reports of investigations to the IRS-CI and to the United States Attorney's Office for prosecution. Jim recommended over 120 cases for federal prosecution and assisted the United States Attorney's office with presenting cases to grand juries and/or trial juries.
Throughout his career, Jim has been assigned to numerous task forces to include the; Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Task Force working drug conspiracy cases, the MN Financial Crimes Task Force (MNFCTF) working on bank fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and identity theft related investigations.
Over the years Jim has participated in joint investigations with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, United States Secret Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, US Postal Inspection Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Minnesota Department of Commerce - Fraud Bureau, and multiple county and local law enforcement agencies.
Jim also has significant experience in tracing assets and identifying them for seizure and/or forfeiture. Jim received both his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Law Enforcement from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Minnesota. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), State of Minnesota, certificate #11869 (inactive).

JENNIFER O'DONNELL, CFE, CAMS
Managing Investigator & Consultant
Jennifer has over 24 years of law enforcement experience. She has investigated a wide variety of crimes such as; fraud, embezzlement, human trafficking, identity theft, tax evasion, drug trafficking and money laundering. She has worked with both state and federal law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute complex financial investigations.
Jennifer has been the lead investigator on several multi-million dollar embezzlement investigations. She was able to identify the different fraud schemes, recover millions of dollars in assets, and obtain multiple indictments and successful prosecutions.
Jennifer’s professional service includes; Board member – Greater Twin Cities Chapter Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, Member – Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), and Member – Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota and an Accounting Certificate from St. Mary’s University. She is also a graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She has additional training in Forensic Statement Analysis.

SANDRA BREDEMUS, CICA
Managing Intelligence Analyst
Sandy spent a full career in the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) with more than 44 years of experience. Her most recent position was as a Supervisory Investigative Analyst with over 28 years of experience serving as the lead analyst on major investigative operations and coordinating the development of specialized analytical processes. Sandy has held a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
Throughout her career, Sandy conducted independent research and analysis on complex fraud and electronic crimes cases, including financial fraud, international data breaches, terrorism and transnational organized crime rings. Sandy served as a technical expert on all matters related to asset forfeiture, to include determining and locating assets appropriate for seizure. She participated in an inter-agency unit focusing on terrorist financing immediately after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Sandy supervised and mentored investigative analysts on a regional basis and participated in the development of an investigative analyst training program for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).
Sandy served as lead analyst on the MN Financial and Electronic Crimes Task Force. Sandy received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Metropolitan State University and an Information System Analysis & Design Certificate from the University of Minnesota. Sandy is certified as a Lifetime Criminal Intelligence Certified Analyst - International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA).

Managing Investigator & Consultant
Steve spent a full career with U.S. Secret Service (USSS) as a Senior Special Agent with over 20 years of successful experience in global law enforcement, protection, emergency management, high profile federal/state fraud investigations. Steve also held a Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance. Prior to joining the Secret Service, Steve proudly served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years.
Steve oversaw counterfeit investigations in the Minnesota District and assisted in developing relationships of Secret Service personnel with multiple local law enforcement groups to investigate individuals involved in counterfeiting, drugs and theft with violent criminal histories resulting in a major decrease in counterfeit currency in circulation in the Twin Cities area.
Steve has led numerous protective advance security teams conducting assessments for the President, Vice President and other VIPs and world leaders involving the technical and physical security for domestic and international venues including the Middle East, Asia and South America. Steve was an instructor at the Secret Service training academy teaching protection and investigative courses to Secret Service agents assigned to the President and Vice President’s protective details, as well as, field agents and newly hired agents. Additionally, Steve was a firearms instructor for the Secret Service throughout the course of his career.

Kal successfully completed a full career of over 20 years as a U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Senior Special Agent, with experience in global law enforcement, protection, emergency management, high profile federal / state fraud and criminal investigations. Held a Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance.
Kal has played an active role in and / or led countless protective advance security assessments involving the technical and physical security for venues and locations associated with the President, Vice President, Air Security, other VIPs and world leaders. Kal served on the Presidential Protective Detail for 5 years.
Kal honorably served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, for Active Duty and Reserve periods totaling 18 years. Kal served as a Naval Intelligence Analyst and was directly Commissioned as a Naval Reserve Intelligence Officer, stationed domestically and overseas. Held a Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance.
Kal was POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) certified as a licensed Peace Officer in the States of Montana and Minnesota, having served in local law enforcement in Montana for 4 years.
Kal’s education includes; a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia). Kal is also a graduate from; the U.S. Secret Service Academy, Beltsville, MD, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Glynco, GA, the Montana Law Enforcement Academy, Bozeman, MT, and Comair Aviation Academy, Sanford, Florida.

KEVIN SULLIVAN, CFE, CAMS
Kevin has over 17 years of law enforcement experience and has taken part in a variety of large-scale, high profile investigations, and tactical operations at the state and federal level.
Kevin spearheaded complex money laundering investigations related to fraud, human trafficking, and narcotics. Kevin led the financial investigation and analysis of an international human-trafficking investigation, collaborating with multiple federal agencies to ultimately obtain 37 indictments and obtain over $2 million in seizures.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and his Master of Science Degree from Walden University in Psychology with a focus on Crisis Management and Response. Kevin is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Kevin has additional certificates and training including; Certified Fraud Examiner – ACFE, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists – ACAMS, Virtual Currency and Bitcoin Certificate – ACAMS, and Forensic Statement Analysis from the Professional Development Institute.
