The attached article from Campus Safety Magazine, highlights one of the concerning issues many people have had about the area on and around the U of MN Campus (Twin Cities), and the misperceptions that the University's area of responsibility extends into non-Clery Act boundaries where a majority of U of MN students live in "off-campus housing".
This emphasizes the importance of safety/security awareness and the value of the community coming together to report concerning behavior or incidents before they escalate into criminal conduct. Strategies need to be formed with all stakeholders to mitigate life altering safety/security incidents. If other available University reporting resources or City of Minneapolis resources are not utilized, this is where 360 Security Services is hoping to help the Campus Safety Coalition with our CHIRP-360 incident reporting services in areas where students or other members of the community feel hesitancy to report things.
Stay safe! Get involved and don't hesitate to report anything of concern! A community coming together for safety and security is better than one divided!
